--- Sacred King Calendar, Month 12, Year 216 ---
-- South of the Southern Leonian border --It had only been a few days for Hyude, Galonwand, and Baleen to find their way out of the forest, and the trio was quite cheerful to find themselves greeted by warm rays of sunlight, which replaced the ever so dreadful snowfall. The conversation began to grow from awkward small-talk after the misunderstanding to hilarious past happenings and family affairs. The three Rune Knights were finding it easy to become good friends.
After exiting the bothersome forest, the three were quickly able to find a small town by dusk, and gain supplies and direction. They found that they were about a month or so away by foot, and might be able to cut off a few days at a speedy pace. But they also heard rumors that told that the Esgares Empire was planning to attack very soon.
Deciding that it would just tire them to keep pushing on, the trio bought two rooms for the night at the local inn, and ate a large, healthy dinner.
At the dinner table...
Galonwand: "So, Hyude, what do you plan to do? Esgares is ready to launch an attack on Leonia, and we don't expect you to follow us to your death."
Baleen: "Yeah, you might be a good martial artist, but you won't stand a chance against full fledge Rune Knights, or their monsters for that matter."
Hyude: Looks up "......"
Baleen: "Hyude? You alright??"
Hyude: "Yeah, well... Yeh see... I am a Rune Knight"
Both Baleen and Galonwand blink, surprised.
Galonwand: "Why didn't you tell us?"
Hyude: "Din' want anyone to know ebout it. I'm the travlin' typa guy, not someone who goes eround killing... Monsters."
Baleen: "Makes sense. Can't blame you, I guess"
Hyude: "No, actually I've been considerin' givin' this thing a chance."
Baleen: "What?"
Hyude: "Lemme at leas' meet this ladeh you two'll be servin'. She can' be that bad if yeh two're trustin' eer."
Galonwand nods and smiles.
Galonwand: "Well... The food is here... Let's eat!"
