A fishing ship sails into the harbor at Squest. Others follow slowly, drifting in lazily one-by-one. Twilight settles over the port city, lamps are lit, music plays, and laughter rings from the streets and homes.

From a shadowed corner two figures converse in hushed tones...

Victoria: So the ships all managed to enter the city safely? Even the hydra?

Smuggler: Yes, the Lizards and Hydra await you at the docks. We've already taken care of the guards in the area, your lizards are quite deadly around water, and at night...taking the docks was almost too easy.

Victoria: Yet you seem nervous. You told me no knights of Caerleon would be defending this castle...

Smuggler: And so it is mistress. Bilcock returned to the capital yesterday, and Caerleon does not feel this castle could be endangered so quickly. But an Almekian ship lies at anchor at the docks. We managed to subdue its crew and discovered from them that the sorceror Gilsus is here on his way to meet with King Cai at Linnuis.

Victoria: (Sending an officer to Caerleon can only mean Lance plans to attack with their help, and soon.) We will take this knight by suprise and bring his message to the Emperor.

Victoria and her monsters gather and make their way through the city toward the governer's mansion. The hydra is carried in a covered wagon for reasons of secrecy.
