In his main chambers, standing near the window, Zemekis looks south-westward, eyes half-buried under furrowed brows. "So, Iscalio has fallen."

Gish sits nearby at the meeting table. His fingers are steepled calmy in front of him, and his face beguiles a sense of satisfaction. "Escalados reports the townsfolk are unexpectedly elated over the events."

Zemekis spares a glance at Gish. "It's not unexpected. They're finally happy to be rid of that madman in that ridiculous purple hat. However..."

"Yes?"

"I don't much respect that Dryst, but he surrounds himself with strong Knights. I would have expected them to last longer than this."

"I'd say it's more a testament to the leadership of Escalados and the strength of the Priest Knight Corps."

Zemekis returns his iron gaze to the window. "Hrm."

Suddenly, MelTorefas arrives and kneels before his lord.

"My Liege!" The young Knight says. "There is a woman here asking audience."

Zekmekis makes a disparaging noise, then mutters, "I have no time for women."

Nonplussed, MelTorefas continues. "But sire, she's a former knight of Iscalio."

"What!?"

"I came across her while patrolling the border - I mean what used to be the border near Xanas."

Just then, Gish notices Ivan skulking outside in the hallway. Gish stands. "Lord Zemekis, I must take my leave. I warn you, this Iscalio woman should not be trusted."

"I'll be the judge of that. Boy-"

"MelTorefas, my lord."

"Show the woman in."
