THE RAND FAMILY

As you discover while playing Iscalio or New Almekia, the three Rand Siblings, residents of the fallen Almekia, went their separate ways with hopes that at least one of them would survive the war in hopes of propagating the family name.  I guess it never occurred to them that it would have been impossible for Liguel to continue the family, but Miguel came up with the plan - and he's not so bright.

There are various encounters you can have on the battlefield depending on the combination of siblings. These encounters almost always result in you losing or gaining one of the siblings, depending on the situation. See each dialogue for more detail.
