Guinglain: Congratulations on your unification of the continent. Now you can finally take a vacation.
Vaynard: Not really. We only accomplished one of our milestones...
Guinglain: We must be cautious.
Vaynard: Exactly. However, we deserve to have some kind of celebration. Please prepare for the ceremony with Roadbull.
Guinglain: Certainly.
On the day of the unification ceremony
Guinglain: Welcome back, your majesty.
Vaynard: I'm sorry I wasn't able to keep my promise to Noie... I wish I had unified the continent a little earlier...
Guinglain: There was nothing you could do. Nobody could fight fate, but you should know that she died gracefully.
Vaynard: I wish I had been able to hear her sing just once.
Guinglain: Your majesty, I'm afraid I must tell you something else.
Vaynard: Is it Morholt?
Guinglain: Yes... He has resigned. He thought that a man stuck with an old state of mind would be against the ideals of a new country.
Vaynard: Is that so.. Well, I had a feeling this would happen.
Guinglain: Shall we talk him out of it?
Vaynard: That's not necessary. I know that once he sets his mind on something, he won't change his mind.
Guinglain: He was a good man.
Vaynard: When the world changes, people change as well. Things will never stay the same. You strive to obtain one thing at the risk of losing something else. I have lost so many important things in my life, but I got this continent in return. Since this is the beginning of a new era, I may lose even more.
Guinglain: I swear that I'll always be loyal to you.
Vaynard: I have never felt sympathy for those who I have defeated. I was confident that I was the one who could make a better world. Guinglain, do you think I can do it?
Guinglain: I don't think anyone else can do it.
Vaynard: I appreciate your confidence in me. I'll continue striving for it, regardless of what I lose in the process. Guinglain, are you ready? Let's tell the people that this is the beginning of a new era! Continent Unification Ceremony
Yvain: Congratulations, your majesty! We're glad that we could be of service to you.
Palomides: Your majesty! I have never been this happy in my life. I'm overwhelmed with joy.
Brangien: I don't care what he achieved. I'll never acknowledge him!
Yvain: Please forgive her, your majesty. Princess Brangien doesn't mean any of what she said. She is actually impressed with your achievements. She was just telling us that she thinks it was the right thing that you succeeded her father.
Brangien: Yvain! You told me you wouldn't tell him
Vaynard: I'm so happy to hear that the Princess approves of me.
Brangien: Shut up! I was never...
Guinglain:King Vaynard, it's time for you to give a speech to the people.
Vaynard: Alright.
Guinglain: Listen everyone! King Vaynard is about to give his speech.
Vaynard: To all the Knights of Norgard! Thanks to your support, I was able to accomplish my goal. I would like to be the first to thank you all. I followed the path I believed in, which led to what we have achieved. However, this is not where we stop. We will continue to fight to prove to ourselves that we are alive. You are your greatest enemy. Now that the continent is unified, you must be curious to how I'll govern it. I would like each of you to understand why we live. You shouldn't let power influence your decision. I'm giving you a chance to test yourselves. You shouldn't depend on me all the time. that is the way I'm going to rule this land. If any of you oppose, challenge me! The war is over, but the fighting continues. May there be further advances on our land. This is the beginning of a new era!
Analysis: They really messed up with the Noie thing. What they should have done was have her die at 39 castles. As it stands, once I even used Noie in the final battle. Then comes the dialogue that says he wishes he had been able to unify the continent while she was still alive... It just doesn't make sense. Perhaps Vaynard is speaking about the Unification Ceremony. Whatever...
Guin does say the she died gracefully, meaning that she died sometime between the end of the last battle (after which Guin congratulates Vaynard on "unifying" the continent) and the actual Unification Ceremony. Guin welcomes him back, so maybe he was visiting Noie's grave.
For those who can't read between the lines, the reference to Morholt and "He thought that a man stuck with an old state of mind would be against the ideals of a new country" Morholt got what he wanted - Zemekis' death. Now Vaynard can go hang for all he cares. He doesn't think Vaynard will make a good king.
And finally: in this dialogue, Guinglain utters the most fearful words in the entirety of Brigandine: "King Vaynard, it's time for you to give a speech to the people."
