Bulnoil: I helped Zemekis kill your father. Remember the battle in Lidney? When King Doremiditt and Zemekis were in a single-handed fight, I stopped Doremiditt with magic.

Brangien: That's a lie! I strongly feel that my father fought a fair, honourable fight and died gracefully. I don't believe a work you just said! Vaynard!

Vaynard: What is it?

Brangien: You know I don't acknowledge you, but you're the King of Norgard. If you die now, our country will be in danger. Other countries will invade us. I won't allow that to happen. I want you to run while I take on this rat. There's no sense in us both dying... Go! I'll try to keep him here as long as I can.

Vaynard: That doesn't seem like a good idea.

Brangien: What?!

Vaynard: I don't think you can keep him occupied long enough. Also, how can I leave you here? You're one of my Knights after all... Regardless of how you treat me.

Vaynard: I saw the battle between King Doremiditt and Zemekis. I thought it was strange that King Doremiditt stopped all of a sudden. It was a fight King Doremiditt shuold have won.

Brangien: I'm glad to hear you say that.

Vaynard: Bulnoil... What is it that he is after? He planned it so that I would become King? I don't like it. I don't like it when I'm being used. He will pay for it next time I see him.

Query: "Mmmmm..." !? What the Hell kind of response to an attack is "Mmmmm..." ??

NOTE: This scene in Brigandien GE is a sight to behold. Though the animation itself is a bit weak, the character designs are mostly solid and don't stray too far off model. the high point is when Vaynard freezes himself to Cador, and Brangien makes that crucial, exceptionally well-aimed shot that... Well, it has to be seen to be belived. Nedless to say, I found myself wishing for a rewind button.
