Chantail:How long do you think this war is going to last, Paternus?

Paternus: To be honest, I have no idea. Only God knows...

Chantail: I hope it ends before my son becomes an adult.

Paternus: I hope you're not thinking of sending him into battle when he's older...

Chantail: Who would want to send their child into battle?

Paternus: I understand how you feel, even though I have no children. It may not be appropriate for me to say this, but I think of Queen Lyonesse ad my own daughter. Everytime she enters a battle, I'm afraid that I might not see her again.

Chantail: I can imagine how you feel.

Paternus: Do you remember the Coronation Ceremony? When I saw her face that day, I saw nothing but promise for the future of Leonia. Yet, now we're in the middle of a war. Queen Lyonesse is the kindest Queen in Leonia's history and she has to deal with this... It hurts me to see her fulfill her duty without any complaints. I used to blame myself for not being able to prepare a peaceful era for her.
